JAPANESE Infantry with Compression Rifles
Using both disposable and rechargeable power-packs that capitalise on Japan’s other significant Rift-tech advance in battery technology; the compression rifle can have a significant impact at longer infantry ranges. Its high firepower is harder to employ at shorter ranges due to the weight and length of the rifle, but it’s broadly comparable to an assault rifle in most instances.
Dependant on theatre and formation, some Imperial Japanese Army units have been equipped with compression rifles completely, others issue them to a few members of each rifle squad. Access to regular resupply or recycling of power-packs can be a determining factor in the weapon’s employment. The weapon is certainly respected by Allied infantry required to advance into defensive positions manned by compression rifle armed defenders.
